For Pastors

How do I shepherd the people who only come on Sunday?

You cannot shepherd someone you only meet once a week in a crowd. The shepherding happens in the week, in the small moments a Sunday service has no room for: a question they can ask, a prayer they can share, a place they are seen. The goal is not more services, it is a way to be present between them.

Sunday is a crowd, not a conversation

You can preach to a room of two hundred; you cannot know a room of two hundred. For the person who only comes Sunday, you are a voice from the front, and they are a face you half recognise. That is not anyone’s fault, it is the format.

The week is where knowing happens

A member becomes known when they ask something, share a burden, or show up in a smaller way than a service. If the only touchpoint is Sunday, there is no room for any of that, and people stay strangers inside their own church.

Lower the cost of reaching out

Most people will not call the pastor or come to an event. They will tap a question, add a prayer, or reply in a thread. Meeting them at that low bar is how the once-a-week attender becomes someone you actually pastor.

A place to be seen without a program

Not another meeting to run, a space that is simply there during the week: ask, pray, be noticed. kinwove gives a congregation that, so the Sunday-only member has a way in that does not depend on the pastor spotting them in a crowd.

Common questions

How do I reach people who never come to midweek events?

Meet them where they already are, on their phone, with a low-effort way to ask, pray or be seen. Events ask people to show up; the week-long space meets them without that.

Is this just more work for the pastor?

It should be less. A shared space plus a care team means the quiet member is seen by the body, not only by you.

What about older members not on their phones?

They are usually the ones a phone-based tool is not for, and that is fine. This reaches the ones a Sunday-only rhythm loses, which skews younger.
